Using Threema on Apple Watch - the app on your wrist

How to use Threema on the Apple Watch

Threema is a chat app that is an alternative to WhatsApp or Telegram. If you want to send your data securely and encrypt it via end-to-end encryption, the app offers you a few options for this. You can also use Threema on the Apple Watch via a small detour.

1. Threema does not have its own Apple Watch app.
2. For this reason, you must resort to a third-party provider.
3. Install the app Three Watch for Threema.
4. The app sends and receives data only from the Threema servers and generates a 16-digit password to establish the connection, which is required so that a new QR code does not have to be scanned each time.
5. To date, messages can only be displayed via the Apple Watch, but not replied to.

This grievance probably comes from the way the app communicates with Threema. Namely, the chats are loaded via Threema Web and not directly via the app on the cell phone.
