Alexa: Radio alarm clock - how it works

Amazon's voice assistant has a variety of functions to make your everyday life easier. For example, there is the option to use Alexa as a radio alarm clock and set an alarm or reminder for a certain time. Read here how to set it.

How to use Alexa as a radio alarm clock

One of the many functions of Alexa is its use as a radio alarm clock. If you want to be woken up on time in the morning or reminded at a certain time during the day, Alexa gives you the option to set a timer or an alarm clock respectively.
  1. To set up a new alarm clock, simply use a command like "Alexa, wake me up at..." or "Alexa, set an alarm for..." and add the time.
  2. If you want the alarm clock to wake or remind you repeatedly at the same time rather than just once, tell Alexa to set a repeated alarm.
  3. If you have set an alarm clock, you will hear a preset default tone when it rings.
  4. To prefer to be woken up with your favorite music or radio station instead, tell Alexa when setting the alarm, for example, that you want to be woken up with TuneIn or Spotify.

This is how you check the setting of a radio alarm clock in the Alexa app

To check which alarm clocks you currently have set and whether everything worked correctly when you set them, ask Alexa about which alarm clocks are set. Alternatively, you can also find the overview of set alarms in the Alexa app. To do so, open the app by tapping the corresponding icon and navigate to "Reminders & Alarm Clocks" in the menu. There you also have the option to manage the volume of the alarm clock and its default ringtone.
