The main social, and in particular Instagram, have cleared hundreds of profiles belonging to members of a forum where they sell stolen identities.
About 400 accounts have been deleted on Instagram, but also on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok albeit with smaller numbers, in recent hours. They were all accounts belonging to members of the OGUsers community, a forum that brings together thousands of people who sell access to online profiles stolen from the legitimate owners.
Among these profiles there are also those of many mediators, people who favored the sale of accounts by acting as guarantors of the transaction and keeping a percentage equal to 5% of the agreed price. Basically, it's a forum, whose posts can only be read if you're registered, with sections dedicated to buying and selling accounts on the major online platforms: Instagram, Fortnite, Minecraft, GTA V, YouTube, Netflix and many others.
Inside the forum is a system of credits and ratings that allows users to earn reputation, a valuable commodity for those who sell and buy something that you should neither sell nor buy.
The amazing thing of this story is that many of the deleted profiles belonged to very young users: among them also a 22 years old Australian, who defined himself "Social Media Marketing Specialist" and who was among the administrators of OGUsers. L’attacco a OGUsers
In poche ore centinaia di account social gestiti da membri di OGUsers sono stati bannati da Instagram, Facebook, Twitter e TikTok. Ognuno di questi social ha confermato, direttamente o indirettamente, che il motivo della cancellazione è da ritrovare nel forum citato.
Nessuno parla però di operazione congiunta, solo di normale “ripulisti" di profili falsi o pericolosi.
