WhatsApp, news in sight for GIFs

An update will arrive in the coming days on WhatsApp that will allow you to more easily send your favorite GIFs to your friends

Time for news for WhatsApp: the instant messaging application will receive in the coming weeks an update that will simplify the sending and searching of GIFs, the animated images that have been so successful in recent years. With the new system developed by WhatsApp, the GIFs will be divided into categories and it will be easier to find the animated image that you were looking for.

As often happens in these cases, the anticipation has come from the guys at WABetaInfo, always very up to date on news about WhatsApp. It is certainly not a momentous change, but a small update that will allow users to more easily find their favorite GIFs and share them more quickly within the chat. The WhatsApp update on GIFs for now is only available in the beta version of the application and should be extended to all users in the coming days or weeks.

How GIFs change on WhatsApp

With the new update the section dedicated to GIFs will be neater and easier to navigate. Until now when accessing GIFs, there was no way to divide them by categories, but they were all shown in bulk. The only option the user had was to do a targeted search. When the update will be released, it will be much easier to send the animated images to your friends. Entering the GIF section, at the top of the keyboard we will find many different categories within which the animated images are collected: LOL, Love, Sad, Happy, Dancing. There will also be a category dedicated to the most shared GIFs in recent hours (Trending). In addition, you can save the animated images that you use most often within WhatsApp, so that you always have them at hand (they will be collected in the star-shaped section).

To be able to preview the new features of WhatsApp you need to have the beta version of the messaging application, otherwise you'll have to wait a few more days or a few weeks for the new GIF management system to be released on the official application as well.
