The new Oppo Reno7 SE, Reno7 and Reno7 Pro are official, whose "assault" on the mid-range market starts from China: here are features and prices
Oppo has made official the new generation of the Reno family, one of those that have given it more satisfaction over the years. Oppo Reno7 SE, Reno7 and Reno7 Pro are now official, putting an end to a series of rumors that have tried to "spoil the party" to the Chinese company so appreciated in Italy.
The three new Oppo with 5G connectivity share some technical specifications, and judging by the prices they cover the entire mid-range segment, from the lowest to the highest point. The design is roughly identical, with the Reno7 SE having slightly less optimized bezels around the display than its bigger brothers, a logical consequence of a lower list price. The new Reno7 have consequently diagonals, dimensions and weight slightly different, but if you don't want to be too fiscal you could say that they weigh and take up substantially the same way. Same for all the colors announced in China: Morning Gold, Morning Black and Star Rain Wish.
Oppo Reno7: how they are
Oppo Reno7 SE, Reno7 and Reno7 Pro all have an AMOLED 90Hz Full HD+ screen but with some different features: the first two share the 6.43-inch panel with 600 nits of maximum brightness, Reno7 Pro has a 6.55-inch with HDR10+ support and up to 920 nits of brightness. On all of them, the fingerprint reader is under the screen.
The company has also differentiated the three with regard to the chips used (however, all octa cores): the Reno7 SE has a 2.4 GHz MediaTek Dimensity 900, Reno7 a Snapdragon 778G with the same maximum frequency, while Reno7 Pro has the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max that can go up to 3 GHz.
All Oppo Reno7s have at least 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but on Reno7 and Reno7 Pro you can push up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, however not expandable.
The new Reno7s all have three cameras on the back, but between one version and another the differences are important: on Reno7 SE there is a 48-megapixel f/1.7 main sensor and two "accessories" (macro and depth) of 2 MP each, on Reno7 the main camera is 64 MP f/1.7 and there are also an ultra-wide 8 MP 120-degree camera along with a 2 MP macro, while on Reno7 Pro the main is 50 MP f/1.8 and two more sensors of the same type than the "standard" variant. Selfie camera 16 MP for Reno7 SE, 32 MP for Reno7 and Reno 7 Pro.
On the battery front, on all there is a 4,500 mAh one and there is reverse charging, what changes is the speed of charging: 33 watts on SE, 60 watts on Reno7, 65 watts on Reno7 Pro. Very similar the new Oppo in terms of connectivity: all can hook 5G networks, and have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2 with A2DP and aptX HD, GPS and other popular tracking systems, and then NFC (which is missing on Reno7 SE).
The interface is ColorOS 12 based on Android 11.
Oppo Reno7: how much they cost
Oppo Reno7 SE, Reno7 and Reno7 Pro will be available in China from December 3, except for the first that will arrive on December 17. Prices starting at the equivalent of about 300 euros for Reno7 SE, about 380 euros for Reno7, and about 520 euros for Reno7 Pro. They'll almost certainly arrive in Italy although, in order not to prematurely retire the recent Reno6s, Oppo could wait until 2022.
