Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is a complete and inexpensive fitness smart band, also on sale in Italy, that has only one flaw: the new version will correct it
Among the thousands of products sold by Xiaomi all over the world, including Italy, there is no shortage of smart bands. The Chinese giant has already produced six series of small and light fitness smartwatches, with the latest one called Xiaomi Mi Band 6 being one of the most popular on the market because it offers almost everything at a price of less than 50 euros.
Almost, but not all: the European version of Xiaomi Mi Band 6 lacks the NFC chip, necessary, for example, to make contactless payments without credit or debit cards at enabled pos. In other countries, however, Xiaomi also sells a version with NFC much more attractive given the price only slightly higher. This lack is about to be overcome, because it would seem that Xiaomi Mi Band 6 with NFC is coming to Europe and, therefore, also in Italy. To reveal it, as usual, are the documents of the certification bodies from which very often we learn more news than from the press offices of the companies themselves. By the way: the press office of Xiaomi at the moment is silent about the arrival of Mi Band 6 with NFC in Europe.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 with NFC: how it is made
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 with NFC, NFC chip aside, is absolutely identical to the normal Mi Band 6. The sixth generation of the Mi Band series is decidedly more feature-rich than the fifth: it has a 1.56-inch AMOLED screen, up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge, monitoring of 30 sports activities, 6 of them in automatic mode: walking, running, indoor treadmill and outdoor cycling. There is also 24/7 blood pressure monitoring, sensor to detect the level of oxygen in the blood (SpO2), heart rate monitoring and sleep monitoring.
Fitness aside, Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is also a good product from the smart point of view: it can respond to messages received on the smartphone, even if only with preset responses, even to messages received on WhatsApp or Telegram. The ability to make payments thanks to the NFC chip, then, will be the icing on the cake for this smart band from the Chinese manufacturer. All that's missing is the official announcement, with the price and launch date.
