ZTE Axon 30: how much does the smartphone with hidden camera cost in Europe

ZTE Axon 30 integrates the second generation of ZTE's under-screen camera: official in China for about a month, here's at what prices it would arrive in Europe

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 made noise recently, in particular the first that in addition to being very well equipped on the technical level is the first Samsung with the camera for selfies under the display, but it is not the first smartphone ever to bring this innovation to the market.

The first arrived at the end of last year thanks to the initiative of ZTE. It wasn't a success: the first-ever under-display camera proved to be definitely improvable when tested, so the Chinese company went back to work to try again in 2021 with the ZTE Axon 30, available since early August in China. We've been waiting for weeks for news about the marketing in Europe and the rest of the world, and although there is nothing official yet of the rumors of the past few hours try to anticipate what could be the European prices of ZTE Axon 30.

ZTE Axon 30, prices and availability in Europe

To tell the truth the latest rumors indicate pretty accurate prices for ZTE Axon 30, so the indiscretion could be based on reliable information. The smartphone with the second generation of the camera under the screen by ZTE would arrive starting from 499 euros needed for the variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, ending with the 12+256 GB one that would be offered at 100 euros more, so at 599 euros.

The source is unbalanced, and says that on September 9, ZTE Axon 30 will begin to take its first steps in the world. It will indeed be available in Europe, North America, Asia and Pacific regions, Africa and the Middle East, through the company's official portal, while the availability of individual memory configurations will be subject to change depending on the market.

ZTE Axon 30, a summary of the features

It's true that the ZTE Axon 30 lacks Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 chip for 2021, but the Snapdragon 870 it relies on is hardly a second-rate chip, in fact in terms of sheer power it's even superior. So, in light of this, the price seems pretty tempting, and seems destined to be at least for some time the cheapest under-display camera smartphone available in our parts.

The Snapdragon 870 can push its eight cores up to 3.2 GHz maximum frequency, is made with 7-nanometer manufacturing process and integrates the Adreno 650 GPU. Interestingly, the storage space is UFS 3.1, which is one of the fastest technologies available on the market today.

The display that houses the selfie camera (16 MP) and also the fingerprint reader is a large 6.92-inch Full HD+ OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate, a desirable feature for multimedia content but one that raises the size of the ZTE Axon 30 up to 170.2 x 77.8 x 7.8 mm with a weight of 189 grams.

In terms of cameras, there's a 64 MP f/1.8 main camera on the back, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 5 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth camera. The battery is 4,200 mAh with 55-watt wired fast charging.
