5 hidden features of Windows 10

Secondary desktop, Schedule some actions on the computer, Disk cleanup are some of the hidden features present in Windows 10

Windows 10 is one of the best versions of the operating system ever made by Microsoft. It takes the best of the versions released in recent years, eliminating all the features that were considered unnecessary and that had not met with user approval. Within a couple of years, Microsoft has also updated Windows 10 adding new programs and features from time to time. Many of which users don't even know about.

For example, it is possible to schedule tasks that the computer can repeat every day in total autonomy without the user having to intervene. All thanks to a feature present within Windows 10, but that most users ignore. Knowing the hidden features of Windows 10 not only improves the usability of your computer, but also allows you to get your daily work done faster.

Virtual desktop

On Windows 10 you can work simultaneously on two desktops without having to use an ad hoc application. Few people are aware of this feature, even though it is present in the taskbar of the operating system. To open a new desktop, just click on the picture icon present next to the space to perform searches with Cortana. A new screen will open where all open programs will be shown. Clicking on the icon with the "+" sign on it that says "New Desktop" will create a second desktop for you to work on. The feature is very useful especially for creators and those who work with photo editing and video editing programs.

Schedule Utility

"Schedule Utility" is one of the most useful features present within Windows 10. It allows users to schedule actions for the computer to perform on a daily basis or when pre-determined by the user. To access the program, just type "Scheduling Utility" in the search space and click on the name of the app. The program will open and you can start using it.

Malware Removal

One of the worst nightmares is to see your computer infected with a virus or malware. To make life easier for its users, Microsoft has decided to include within Windows 10 both an antivirus (Windows Defender) and a malware removal software. The program works in the background and only warns the user when it starts working. This is very useful, especially in the early stages when you don't have a professional antivirus installed yet.

Disk Cleanup

If your computer shows some slowdown, the fault could be too much space on your hard drive. Disk Cleanup is a tool inside Windows 10 that lets you delete system files that take up space on your hard drive and penalize your computer's performance. To delete these files, just open Disk Cleanup (you can easily do this via the search bar) and click on "Clean up system files".

Share files with your family members

Another feature that few people know about in Windows 10 is the ability to create a space on the Home Network where you can share files and images with your family members, without having to use messaging applications or email. To create this sharing space, you have to access the Control Panel and press on "Choose home group and sharing options" present in the "Network and Internet" section. A window will open where you can create a home group.
