Apple launches the AirPods Pro, the new in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation. Available from October 28 at a price of 279 euros
We talked about it in the previous days and now comes the confirmation from Apple itself: the AirPods Pro are available for purchase from October 28. With an official statement the Cupertino company has presented the new model of its wireless headphones: more compact design, new technology for active noise cancellation and a more balanced sound thanks to the H1 chip made directly from Apple.
The AirPods Pro (which take their name from the latest iPhone launched in September) are the top of the range wireless headphones that provide a unique quality and clean sound and a battery life that easily exceeds five hours. The in-ear earbuds easily connect with any Apple device - all it takes is a simple tap and a shared iCloud account. The AirPods Pro are water and sweat resistant and can be used during physical activity. Apple headphones are available in stores from October 30 at a price of 279 euros.
AirPods Pro, features, design and autonomy
The first feature that immediately jumps out at you is the design. Apple has completely overhauled it from previous models to implement a new noise-canceling technology. The design is minimal and the wireless headphones are very light and fit any user thanks to the presence of three different sizes of silicone pads.
The core of the AirPods Pro is the new chispet H1 equipped with 10 audio cores that allows perfect sound reproduction and also the activation of Siri. We can interact with the voice assistant to play a song, turn up the volume, make a call or get directions. The AirPods integrate seamlessly with the Apple ecosystem: one touch is all it takes to pair them with all devices connected to the user's iCloud account, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and iPod touch.
The AirPods Pro's battery life is about five hours of uninterrupted listening. Turning on active noise cancellation takes it up to four and a half hours. The headphones charge via Wireless technology by placing the case on a Qi-certified charging mat or plugging it into the Lightning port.
How the AirPods Pro's Active Noise Cancellation Works
The most important feature and one that Apple is banking on the most is Active Noise Cancellation. Apple ah engineered a new system that uses two microphones combined with advanced software for seamless adaptation to each ear and earpiece. Background noise is eliminated and the listening experience is perfect.
The first microphone faces outward and picks up external sound by analyzing ambient noise. The AirPods Pro then produces an opposite equivalent sound that cancels out the background noise before it reaches the listener's ear. A second inward-facing microphone picks up the sounds transmitted toward the ear, and the AirPods Pro erases the residual noise detected by the microphone.
To ensure maximum safety for users, Apple also developed Transparent Mode, which offers the ability to listen to favorite songs without losing the sounds of the surrounding environment. Very useful for alerting to traffic sounds while jogging or announcements at the station while waiting for the train. Switching from Active Noise Cancellation to Transparency Mode is simple and can be done directly on the AirPods Pro using an innovative pressure sensor on the stem.
