How Pluto TV works, the new free streaming service coming to Italy

It will be free with commercials, it will have 40 channels at launch and you can use it also from mobile: here's all the info on the new streaming platform Pluto TV

A new streaming TV platform is coming, also in Italy: it's called Pluto TV and it's "FAST", that is Free Ad-Supported Television. Or, for those who don't speak English, free with advertising. Pluto TV is a service of ViacomCBS, the American TV mega conglomerate that broadcasts, among others, the international channels MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network.

Pluto TV is the free side of the same coin of Paramount+, streaming platform this time paid that will arrive in Italy in 2022. Pluto TV, on the other hand, will arrive much earlier: the debut is scheduled for October 28. Part of the programming will come from the catalog of Paramount and other partners, in total the free channels will be 40 on the day of the start of broadcasting and may increase significantly afterwards, given that in Spanish-speaking countries Pluto TV broadcasts as many as 100 channels. Advertising sales for the platform have been entrusted to Sky Media.

Pluto TV: what's on

The first 40 channels on Pluto TV will be both thematic and linear. Users of the new platform will find everything: cinema, TV series, reality, children's content, lifestyle, crime, comedy, sports (including extreme), gaming.

Among the exclusive linear channels already announced, and available from day one, are Pluto TV Azione, Pluto TV Cinema Italiano, Pluto TV Drama and Pluto TV Real Life. ViacomCBS promises the launch of new channels every month, throughout the initial phase.

Pluto TV: how to watch it

Just like the other streaming platforms already known, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and all the others, Pluto TV will also be viewable on a multitude of devices.

From a computer, simply connect, via any browser, to www.pluto.tv. Alternatively, you can download Pluto TV apps for Android, iOS and Smart TV operating systems (virtually all major ones: Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Chromecast).

Samsung Smart TV owners will find a selection of Pluto TV channels within the free Samsung TV Plus service.
