Paris-Roubaix is widely considered the Queen of the Classics. The 2018 edition will be raced on April 8 and it will be possible to follow it in live streaming online
"The Hell of the North". "The Queen of the Classics." These are just two of the many terms used to define Paris-Roubaix, the most important of the five monumental classics. It's an epic race, 257 kilometers of pure suffering, 54 of which are spent on the pavé. The riders will have to face a total of 29 cobbled sections (including the 300 meters to enter Roubaix), including the 2400 meters of the Arenberg Forest and the 2100 meters of the Carrefour de l'Arbre, considered among the hardest and most grueling for both cyclists and bicycles.
Paris-Roubaix has always been a race suitable for riders with great physical strength and who know how to tame the vibrations produced by the cobblestones. Getting out of the porphyry sections unharmed is very complicated and it is important to face the hardest sections in front of the group, so as not to get caught up in the crashes that are always very frequent at Paris-Roubaix. Being the classic of the North par excellence, the favorites are the cyclists used to training on cobbled roads. Peter Sagan, winner of the last three World Championships, has never managed to be a protagonist at Paris-Roubaix and after a Tour of Flanders that saw him under the weather, he wants to redeem himself. But he will have to deal with Greg Van Avermaet, winner last year, with John Degelkob, winner in the 2015 edition and with Niki Terpstra who has just won the Tour of Flanders showing an excellent physical condition.
And the Italians? It's been since 1999 that no Italian has arrived with his hands in the sky at the Roubaix Velodrome. The last one has been Andrea Tafi and also for this year don't seem many the possibilities of victory for the cyclists of the Bel Paese. Trentin and Moscon are the two more accredited to arrive at least between the first ten. But Paris-Roubaix is not a race like the others, and the surprise is always behind the corner.
The race will be broadcasted live on TV by Eurosport and RAI since the start. The fans who will not be able to follow the race on their home television sets will have the opportunity to watch the 2018 Paris-Roubaix live streaming online on Eurosport Player and RaiPlay.
