How to install LogMeIn Hamachi on your computer

With LogMeIn Hamachi, you can create a virtual, private network and thus establish an encrypted connection to other computers. This allows you, for example, to exchange data or even access another computer directly. Besides, you can use Hamachi to play games over the Internet in LAN mode. Hamachi is free to use, as long as you use it with only five or fewer computers in your network. If you would like to use the VPN tool to its full extent and on more than just five computers, you will need a subscription since January 2014.Follow these steps to create your own virtual network:

1. Download the installation file of Hamachi and run it as soon as the download is complete.
2. Follow the instructions of the installation wizard and start the VPN tool after the installation is complete.
3. Afterwards, you can host your own virtual network via the Hamachi client. This assigns the network its own IP address.
4. Other users now have the option to join the network via the IP address.

Users within a network can then, for example, transfer data among themselves or use the network to play games. To do this, you only need to set up a LAN server in the game itself. The other users can then join the server in the game as members of the virtual network.
