FREE NOW: What is hive? We explain the service

FREE NOW, formerly known as mytaxi, is constantly expanding its mobility portfolio. Among the latest additions to the German market is hive. Our guide explains what it is all about.

The next name: With hive, there is another scooter provider in the German market.

hive is a provider in scooter sharing and already launched in 2018, but initially only in Italy, Poland and Portugal. This has since changed.

FREE NOW: hive scooters now available in Hamburg

hive is part of FREE NOW and adds an important facet to its in-house mobility services.

• Since summer 2020, hive scooters have been available in Germany, initially only in Hamburg. The fleet includes around 1,000 e-scooters.
• Booking is possible directly in the app of FREE NOW. There is no separate hive app.
• On the road, you can recognize the hive scooters by their red and white patterning.

Since the e-scooters from Voi can already be booked via FREE NOW, users have an even greater choice. From FREE NOW's point of view, this means stronger customer loyalty to the app, and in the case of hive also an additional source of revenue.According to FREE NOW, hive should also reach other German cities in the foreseeable future, but there is no concrete info on this yet.
