Excel: Create a chart from a table

Excel offers you various ways to display your data. Besides arranging them in a table, you can also visualize them. This is done with the help of a diagram. Here you can choose from various diagrams, which you can also modify as desired. For example, you can insert headings or a trend line.

How to create a chart from a table in Excel

With charts it is possible to present data in an understandable way. Here, there are different types of visualizations, in addition to block diagrams, there are, for example, line charts. In the spreadsheet program Excel, you can have a chart created from a table in just a few steps.
  1. Mark all the data from which you want to create a chart.
  2. Then go to "Insert". Under "Recommended charts" you will already find a selection of chart types. Click on the "Recommended diagrams" tab.
  3. Here you can now select a diagram. Then a preview of the diagram opens.
  4. Here you can make changes to it again. Then confirm via "Ok".
  5. If you want to add a trend line or similar, select the diagram and go to "Draft" at the top. Here you now click on "Add chart element". Now you have a selection of options that you can activate.
  6. If you want to add a heading to the chart, you just have to click on the chart and then on "Layout". Here you will now see the "Chart Title" option in the "Captions" section.
