Uninstall iPhone App - How it works

Over time, your iPhone accumulates many apps that you never or rarely use. Then it can be useful to remove some from your iPhone again. In just a few steps it is possible to uninstall an app from your iPhone.

How to manage to uninstall apps from your iPhone

On iPhone, existing apps can be easily uninstalled from the home screen:

1. First, click on the icon of the app you want to uninstall from your iPhone on your home screen.
2. Hold down the app icon until it starts to wiggle and a black cross appears at the top left edge.
3. Tap on this black cross and confirm with "Delete" that you really want to remove the app from your iPhone. The app is now uninstalled.

What to do if apps can not be uninstalled?

If some apps can not be removed in the previously described way, it may be that the deletion of these apps is disabled in the settings. To remove this blocking, proceed as follows:

1. Please navigate to "Settings" > "Screen time" > "Restrictions".
2. Enter your blocking code and scroll to the "Delete apps" item. The switch next to it should be green so that app uninstallation is not restricted.

Apps that still cannot be uninstalled now are those that were pre-installed by Apple and cannot be deleted by the user.
