Uninstall Xbox - How it works

As a Windows 10 user, you may find yourself in a situation where you find pre-installed apps on your PC that you don't actually need, such as for Xbox. However, you have the option to uninstall Xbox.

Two tips in advance: delete pre-installed apps only if you are sure that you really do not need them anymore and always make a backup before making changes of this kind. So, to uninstall unnecessary, pre-installed apps, there are two options. Let's first take the simpler option in view:

1. Click on the Windows button at the bottom left and then on the gear to get into the settings.
2. Open the menu "Apps & Features".
3. Now search for "Xbox" in the list. You can enter this in the search line above the list.
4. Click the search result and then select "Uninstall".

If this does not work, there is still an alternative solution to your problem.

Uninstall via PowerShell command

Sometimes uninstalling the app via right-click is not possible. If this is the case, it is necessary to work with the so-called Windows PowerShell.
