iPhone 5s: This helps if the home button is defective

The iPhone 5s, like all older iPhone models, has a home button for navigation. If this no longer works, this is not necessarily due to a defect. Often, the problem can be solved by recalibrating the home button. To do so, open an app on your iPhone 5s and press and hold the device's power button until the power off slider appears. Instead of turning off the iPhone, please press and hold the Home Button until the previously opened app appears again. If this has worked, the Home Button can be used as usual.

How to use a virtual Home Button on iPhone 5s

If the Home Button still does not work after performing the calibration, there is usually a defect that requires repair. For this, contact Apple Support or a certified repair shop. 1. To set up a virtual Home Button, please open the iPhone 5s settings and go to "General" > "Accessibility".
