How to make calls with Microsoft Teams

By converting your end device into a phone, it acts as a so-called softphone. Thus, your phone is mapped to the computer and can be used accordingly with Microsoft Teams. All you need is an intact Internet connection. Then you can use Microsoft Teams practically the same way as a normal phone and make calls accordingly.
  • You need the Office licenses E1, E3 or E5 for this, whereby you must additionally book the add-on phone system for a monthly fee for the E1 and E3 license.
  • This does not incur any additional telephone charges, as roaming and charges for international calls are also omitted.
  • You can book the function thereby via Microsoft, for which a landline connection from and at Microsoft Cloud data centers is necessary. However, the call plans that can be selected there are subject to a monthly fee and are not possible in all countries.
  • In addition, you can also use the function via a third-party provider, a so-called certified Session Border Controller. There are a variety of providers that also take care of the setup for you.
