Report WhatsApp group - these steps are necessary

When using WhatsApp, you can report a contact if you notice that they are a scammer or if this person is sending inappropriate messages. If you have been invited to a group where this is also the case, then you also have the option to report this group.

How to report a group on WhatsApp

In many instant messengers like WhatsApp, scammers try to find out the data of various contacts. This can be individual contacts who write to you or a whole group. You can report both on WhatsApp.

1. To do this, open WhatsApp on your smartphone and navigate to the chat with the group you want to report.
2. Then click on the corresponding group picture or on the placeholder for this.
3. Here you will now see an i icon. Tap on it to open the information window.
4. Further down you have several options to choose from. Wählen Sie den Punkt „Gruppe melden“ aus.
5. Beachten Sie, dass Sie den Haken bei „Nachrichten der Gruppe löschen“ entfernen, damit Sie den Verlauf später noch einsehen können, beispielsweise für die Polizei.
6. Abschließend bestätigen Sie Ihre Wahl über „Melden“.
7. Auf die gleiche Weise können Sie auch einzelne Personen bei WhatsApp melden und eventuell blockieren, damit diese Sie nicht mehr kontaktieren können.
