WhatsApp: Change group picture - how to do it

In addition to individual chats, you also have the option in WhatsApp to set up a group chat. This has, in addition to a group subject and a group description, also a group picture. This guide explains how you can change this image within the group.

How to change the group picture of a WhatsApp group

When you create a new group, it will be displayed like a normal contact in the chat overview. Instead of the contact name and profile picture, you will see the defined group title and a group picture for a group. This group picture can in turn be changed at any time and by any group member.

1. To set a new group picture, first open the corresponding WhatsApp chat and tap on the three dots at the top right.
2. In the context menu that opens, please then select the "Group Info" entry.
3. There you will see the current group picture at the top, which you can select by tapping on it so that it appears large on the screen.
4. On the top right you will now see a pencil icon, on which you please tap to select or record a new image or delete the current image.

In addition to changing the group picture, you have the option to make other changes to one of your WhatsApp groups. If you want to change the subject of the group, this is possible directly in the chat under "Menu" > "Group info" by tapping on "Edit". There you can also change the group description and confirm your changes by tapping on the gray checkmark.
