What is a cache in software?

A cache refers to the so-called buffer memory of a computer. If this cache is full, it usually causes programs to not function properly or Internet pages to not render correctly.

The word "cache", which comes from French, translates to "hide". However, in practice, the cache is not used to keep things secret, but to store data for user convenience.

If, for example, you enter something in the address or search line of your browser repeatedly, you often no longer have to type in entire sentences or web addresses, as the information cached in the cache is used to provide you with suggestions. The cache helps your browser anticipate your intentions. Clear the cache on the smartphone

2. Click on the settings under "More".
3. Then go in the advanced settings on the privacy and then on "Clear browser data".
4. Under the item "Clear data" you can select at the arrow icon for what period of time the cache should be cleared and which data to delete.
