iPhone X: Display flickers - that's the reason

If you see flickering on the display of your iPhone X again and again, this can have several causes. In addition to a defect in the display itself, an outdated software version can also be the reason for the appearance of flickering.

Display flickers: Solve the problem with a software update

If the display of your iPhone X flickers, this does not necessarily have to be due to a defect. Instead, a software problem can be the cause. If this is the case, the problem can usually be fixed by updating the iOS version.
  1. Before you start with the software update, please first create a backup of all data stored on the iPhone X using iTunes or iCloud.
  2. Then connect the device to the power supply and connect to the Internet via WLAN.
  3. Navigate then in the Settings app to "General" > "Software Update" > "Download and Install" and click "Install" to start the iOS update.

These costs are incurred when the display of the iPhone X flickers

If the flickering of the display continues to occur even after updating the software or if you have already installed the latest iOS version on your iPhone X, the cause of the problem is most likely a defect in the display. If the device is still under warranty or you have purchased an Apple Care contract, you can send the iPhone X to Apple for repair and only pay a service fee of 29 Euros. If, on the other hand, the damage occurs outside of the warranty, you will have to pay the costs of 311 euros, which are due for the replacement of the display, yourself.
