YouTube: Fire TV is supported again

The battle of the giants is coming to a head. For years now, Google and Amazon have been battling for viewers. There is good news for Fire TV owners, as YouTube can be used again via the Amazon device in the future.

With the YouTube lock on the Fire TV, Google wants to put pressure on Amazon.

YouTube on the Fire TV: How to do it

YouTube is very popular on all devices, including, of course, the TV. For some time, you could no longer download and use the YouTube app on the Fire TV because of a dispute between Amazon and Google. However, Google has already announced in 2019 that YouTube can be used on the Fire TV again. You can therefore download the app as usual in the Amazon App Store and use it via your TV.

1. Once you have downloaded the YouTube app via the store on your TV, you can start it.
2. Then go to "Sign in" and follow the steps given. Now you will be shown a code.
3. The first time you log in via your TV, you need to activate the device online. Therefore, go to the corresponding YouTube website via a browser.
4. Sign in with your login details here as well and enter the code that is displayed on your TV. Klicken Sie auf „Zugriff erlauben“.
5. Abschließend wählen Sie das verknüpfte Google-Konto aus, falls es mehrere gibt.
6. Nun können Sie die App wie gewohnt auf Ihrem Fernseher verwenden.
