Enable VLC visualization - this option is available

There are several visualizations available for the VLC player that allow you to visually display your music. After installation, some visualizations are already available to you, yet you have the option to download more options. Before these are displayed, you need to enable them in the player.

How to enable visualizations in VLC player

With VLC player you have the possibility to show visualizations that move rhythmically to your music. Before you can display them, however, they must be activated.

1. First open the player on your PC.
2. Now start a music track of your choice.
3. Click on the option "Audio" in the menu bar.
4. Here you will find the item "Visualization".
5. Once you have selected a visualization, click on it to activate it.

Install additional visualizations

If you want a larger number of visualizations than the ones you can choose from by default, you can download and install them for free from projectM.

1. Go to the developer's website for this.
2. Laden Sie anschließend die Sammlung mit den Visualisierungen herunter.
3. Nach dem Entpacken der Datei finden Sie den Ordner „presets_milkdrop“.
4. Kopieren Sie diesen in den Visualization-Ordner innerhalb des VLC-Ordners auf Ihrem Computer.
5. Im Player klicken Sie auf „Werkzeuge“ > „Einstellungen“.
6. Aktivieren Sie unter „Einstellungen anzeigen“ die Option „Alle“.
7. Gehen Sie auf der linken Seite zu „Audio“ > „Visualisierungen“ > „projectM“.
8. Anschließend klicken Sie auf „projectM-Voreinstellungspfad“ > „Durchsuchen“.
9. Navigieren Sie zum Visualization-Ordner und klicken Sie auf „Speichern“.
