Windows 10: Show saved passwords

Saving passwords can definitely make life easier. After all, you don't have to think about where which password was used and you save yourself from typing it in. To find out where you have stored passwords, there are simple methods for both the Windows interface and browsers.

How to view your saved passwords in Windows 10

You can easily view saved passwords in Windows 10 to change them or even delete them. You can do this both in the operating system and in the Internet browser.

In the "Edge" browser:

1. If you want to get an overview of the passwords you have entered in the Edge browser, then click on the three dots at the top right there and select "Settings".
2. Now navigate to the "advanced settings" and go there to "Manage passwords".
3. Here you will see the passwords already used, although you can also delete them by holding the mouse over them and then click the red cross.
4. Klicken Sie das Passwort direkt an, dann haben Sie die Möglichkeit, das Kennwort sowie den Benutzernamen zu ändern.

In Windows 10:

1. Sie können sich unter Windows 10 Ihre gespeicherten Passwörter auch im Klartext anzeigen lassen.
2. Dafür öffnen Sie die Kategorie-Übersicht Ihrer Systemsteuerung und wählen erst „Benutzerkonten“ und anschließend „Anmeldeinformationsverwaltung“ aus.
3. Navigieren Sie nun in die Kategorie „Webanmeldeinformationen“. Dort können Sie den Abschnitt erweitern, um sich das gewünschte Webangebot anzeigen zu lassen.
4. Klicken Sie neben dem entsprechenden Passwort auf „Einblenden“. Nach Eingabe Ihres Windows-Kennworts wird Ihnen das Passwort in Klartext angezeigt.
