Google: Change password - how to do it

Login data is one of the most common targets for fraudsters. Therefore, you should change your passwords regularly so that no stranger can gain access to your data. In the following, we will show you how you can change your Google password and what else you should keep in mind when assigning a password.

Change password at Google

To change your Google password on your PC, go to the Google page and click on "Google Account" in the upper right corner. If you haven't already done so, log in with your user details.
  1. Now select "Manage Google Account" and click "Security" in the menu on the left.
  2. Next, go to "Sign in to Google" and select the "Password" entry.
  3. Now you need to enter your old password once to confirm your identity and continue.
  4. If you click "Next", you can set a new password. Enter this twice and confirm your change with "Change password".
  5. Finally you will receive a notification that your password has been changed. You can now log in at any time with the new password you have set.

Change Google password: Set secure password

When assigning a password, make sure that it is secure enough. The more complicated the password is chosen, the harder it is for an outsider to crack it. So, ideally, choose a combination of upper and lower case letters as well as numbers and special characters. It is also recommended to change your own password regularly.
