Google Maps: Search coordinates - how to find the place

With Google's Maps service, you can search for places and addresses. The prerequisite for this is that you know the name of the place. However, it is also possible to display a place based only on its coordinates. You can choose between two different notations.

How to search for coordinates in Google Maps

Coordinates can be specified on Google in radians (degrees, minutes and seconds) or in decimal degrees (longitudes and latitudes). Note that on Google Maps, an E stands for "East" instead of an O for "East."

1. Go to the Google Maps page. It is best to use your browser for this, so that you have a better overview.
2. Now enter the coordinates in one of the two spellings in the search bar at the top left.
3. As soon as you press Enter, the corresponding location on the map is displayed and you can view some information in the menu on the left.
4. Sie können von Maps auch Koordinaten eines bestimmten Ortes auslesen.
5. Dazu klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste an den entsprechenden Punkt in der Map.
6. Wählen Sie die Option „Was ist hier?“. Nun werden Ihnen die Koordinaten im unteren Teil des Bildschirms angezeigt. Sobald Sie diese anklicken, erhalten Sie weitere Informationen.
7. Nutzen Sie die App, dann müssen Sie lediglich lange auf die Karte tippen und schon können Sie sich die Koordinaten anzeigen lassen.
