Purchase on account with Klarna - how it works

If the online store you are ordering from offers the Klarna option, you have the possibility to pay your purchase on account with Klarna. In this case, the payment of the invoice is not made directly through the merchant, but is processed through Klarna. We will show you how it works.

How buying on account with Klarna works

Klarna is an online service that is now available in many online stores and allows you to pay for your purchases on account. This not only gives you the opportunity to check your goods at your leisure before paying, but also means that you do not have to enter your account details again at each store, as the transfer is made directly to Klarna. If you have selected Klarna Invoice as your payment method, you only need to enter your name, e-mail address and postal address. As soon as the merchant ships the goods you have purchased, you have 14 days to transfer the amount to Klarna.

Purchase on account: How to pay in installments with Klarna

If you have selected the payment method on account for a purchase, it is possible for some invoices to subsequently pay them in installments with Klarna. Whether a conversion from purchase on account to installment purchase is possible for your invoice, you can find out via the Klarna app or the company's website.
  1. To do this, log in with your user data in the app or on "klarna.de" and select the invoice that you want to convert.
  2. Navigate then to "Payment options" and click, if available, on the option "Partial payment".
  3. Now select how many monthly installments you want to settle your purchase.
