Lubuntu: Create screenshots - very easy!

Under Lubuntu, as with most other operating systems, you can create screenshots. However, what is the correct key combination and how do you even get the image file?

How to easily create screenshots with Lubuntu

In major operating systems like Windows or Mac OS you can find tools to take screenshots. There you can usually also scan individual windows and access the image file directly. Users of a small Lubuntu system, however, often wonder whether such functions are included at all. But in fact, you can also take screenshots under Lubuntu.
  1. On your keyboard, you will find a key that says "Print" or "Print".
  2. Simply press this key when you are currently in the corresponding screen from which you want to take a screenshot.
  3. In your profile folder, which is named after your user name, you will then find a PNG file that contains the screenshot. You can find the profile sub in the home directory.

Further information

You can now open the PNG file with an image editing program of your choice. For example, the free software GIMP is suitable, which contains lots of functions. You can also change the file format with this, crop the image to a certain area and much more.Furthermore, you can also install software with which you have more functions available for creating screenshots with Lubuntu. For example, Shutter or Mirrage are suitable.
