Setting up your FritzBox DynDNS- how to do it

To be able to access the user interface of your Fritzbox on the road, you need a DynDNS. This is a constant address that automatically redirects you to the IP address of your Fritzbox.

So you set up a DynDNS for the Fritzbox

To access the Fritzbox from outside your home network, you need a DynDNS address. This is a fixed address that allows access to the Fritzbox via the Internet, even if the IP address has been updated automatically. To set a DynDNS for your Fritzbox, there are several providers on the Internet where this can be done free of charge.
  1. To get a DNS, please call the website of a provider, such as "dynv6" or "DYNDNS Service", and provide the necessary information.
  2. Then log in to the Fritzbox user interface and navigate to "Internet, Shares, DynDNS".
  3. Set there a check mark next to "Use DynDNS", select the provider used and enter the DynDNS address received at "Domain".
  4. Then also enter the user name and password and confirm with "Apply".

This is how remote access to the Fritzbox via a DynDNS possible

If you have a MyFritz account, the creation of the DynDNS address and remote access are alternatively possible via the Fritzbox settings. Please navigate to "Internet" > "MyFRITZ! account" and check "MyFRITZ! active for this FRITZ! box". Afterwards you can log in under "myfritz.net" and access the router by clicking on "To your FRITZ! Box".
