iOS 12: Closing apps - how it works

If an app stops responding properly or hangs, you need to force the app to quit on the device. This works very easily via an integrated manager for the apps. You just have to switch to the corresponding interface and can close the app with a gesture.

Close iOS 12 apps: This gesture makes it work

Unlike on an Android device, you have fewer buttons on your iPhone and thus different controls. Nevertheless, the task manager can be accessed very easily.
  1. On your Android device, you can press the square button or, on newer devices, the square icon to open the manager.
  2. On the iPhone, press the home button twice in quick succession to enter the app overlay.
  3. There you can now swipe left or right through the individual open apps.
  4. If you now want to end an app, swipe the window with your finger upwards out of the screen.
  5. All open apps are now pushed together, and the selected app is closed.

iOS 12: How to close apps on iPhone X

  1. Since the launch of iPhone X, closing apps has changed a bit.
