iOS 11 Move apps: How it works

On an iPad or iPhone with the iOS 11 operating system, you can sort and arrange apps on the screen as you like. You can also combine the apps into folders to greatly improve clarity. To move an app, you need to put it in edit mode.

Move apps on iOS 11

If you are using a mobile device with the iOS 11 operating system, apps on the homescreen can be sorted in any order. If two apps are pushed on top of each other, they can be combined into a folder. You can then add more apps to the folder by dragging and dropping them onto the folder. You can put up to 135 apps in one folder.

Move individual apps

1. Find the app you want and tap it.
2. Hold the app until it starts wiggling.
3. Edit mode is activated.
4. Move the app on the homescreen or add the app to a folder.

How to move multiple apps

1. Touch and hold one of the apps you want to move.
2. When edit mode is activated, move the app to any location.
