Android 11: Move apps to SD card

Apps can also be moved to the SD card under Android 11. However, there are restrictions here. Only some apps can be moved to the SD card to free up storage space. System-relevant apps and preinstalled apps are usually excluded here.

Moving apps to the SD card

Who does not have much storage space available is often annoyed by apps that take up memory. One option is to move part of the apps to an SD card. This is possible for many apps via the settings. However, preinstalled apps are excluded here since they can only be removed or changed after rooting. Apps that directly affect the smartphone's system cannot be moved to the SD card, either. For other apps, only part of the data might be moved to the SD card. After each storage change, check the app's functions and undo the operation if necessary. For apps that store important information, be sure to back them up before moving them to prevent data loss.

How to move an app

  1. Open the settings.
  2. Select "Apps" or "Applications".
  7. Bestätigen Sie den Vorgang.
