Android Q: Move apps - methods

If the internal memory of your Android Q smartphone is full, but you don't want to uninstall apps, you can also move them to create free memory. However, you will first need an SD card for this. We will show you how to proceed correctly when moving apps.

Android Q: How to move apps to an SD card

In order to move apps from the internal memory of your Android Q smartphone, you first need a suitable SD card for the device. Once you have found it, please insert the SD card into the smartphone that is turned off, start it up, and tap "Set Up" in the notification that appears to set up the card as internal storage. Once the SD card setup is complete, please follow the steps below to move apps to it:
  1. Open the Settings app of your smartphone and tap the "App" item there.
  2. After that, search for the app you want to move, select it and tap the "Storage" option.
  3. Now tap "Change" under "Used storage" and select the previously inserted SD card as the new storage location to move the app.

On Android Q: Move multiple apps at once

If you want to move multiple apps to the SD card in your smartphone, you have the option to use a special app like "AppMgr III" for this as an alternative to manually changing the storage location. Please note that to use this method, you need to root your Android Q device first. Then open the AppMgr III app, select the apps you want to move and confirm with "OK" to transfer them to the SD card.
