ShareTheMeal: How to use the app for a good cause

In many regions of the world, the hunger problem is far from being solved. And this, although it is even extremely favorable from a Western perspective to donate meals to poor regions. ShareTheMeal aims to make this as easy as possible.

ShareTheMeal is dedicated to fighting world hunger and uses the possibilities of the networked, digital world to do so. Nevertheless, the willingness of users is the cornerstone of the concept.

How the ShareTheMeal app works

Here's the most important info on ShareTheMeal:

• According to sharethemeal.org, it costs just 40 cents to feed a child for a day.
• For most people in Germany and other industrialized countries, this amount is hardly worth mentioning. In third world countries, however, the sum can make a real difference.
• To ensure that the system works quickly, spontaneously and conveniently, an app was developed. Once this is set up, a single click is enough for the donation.
• This can optionally also be done in teams. Teams are founded independently by the community.
• It is also possible to donate a fixed lump sum monthly.
• In addition: In the program "Our Table" participants are connected via the SCOPE tool of the World Food Program with families in target regions. Dadurch bekommen die Spenden einen realen, persönlichen Bezug. Passend dazu werden Spender informiert, für welche Nahrungsmittel ihr Geld verwendet wurde.
