Sonos One: How to turn it off completely

With Sonos One, you get the Alexa voice assistant, which allows you to control various functions with a voice command. With their high sound quality, the speakers are a great choice for music lovers. If you do not want the sound pattern recognition to always be active, you can turn off the microphone and/or the device.

How to turn off Sonos One

With the Sonos One speakers, you can start, stop or change the track of your music at any time via voice commands. To make this possible, the sound pattern recognition in the speaker waits for the code word "Alexa" and then establishes an internet connection to analyze the subsequent voice command. If you want to deactivate the microphone for a short time, press the touch button on the top of the device. This can also turn the sound pattern recognition back on. There is no power button to completely turn off the box. Here's how it's still possible:

1. To completely turn off Sonos One, you need to disconnect the device from the power. This can be done by unplugging the power cord. Connect the Sonos One back to a power outlet, the speaker is directly ready for use again and connects to your WLAN, if previously set up.
2. If you do not want to pull the power plug every time to turn off the device, you can alternatively choose a switchable power outlet. To do this, buy a power strip with a toggle switch and connect it between the power source and the device. Thus, it is possible to disconnect the speakers from the power by pressing the switch. This then serves as a kind of power switch.
