Apple Watch: Use the smartwatch as a fitness tracker

Apple Watch as a fitness tracker

With the pre-installed "Training" app and thanks to the various sensors, the Apple Watch can easily track workouts of any kind. The current generation (5th) of the smartwatch is even waterproof. This allows you to take the smartwatch swimming.Follow these steps to start a workout:
  1. Open the "Training" app on the Apple Watch.
  2. Select the workout that most closely matches your activity from the various workout types.
  3. Tap the button for more options, you have the option to set a goal. If you want to start directly without a goal, simply tap again on the selected workout.
In addition to entering via the display, you can also start a workout with the help of Siri. Activate the voice assistant and say, for example, "Ten kilometers cycling". The Apple Watch will then start a new training session.

Track training progress

The workouts you complete are recorded by the Apple Watch and passed on to your iPhone. There you can take a closer look at the data and view all training sessions in detail.
  1. Call up the "Activity" app on the iPhone.
  2. Switch to the "Training" tab to get an overview of all training sessions.
  3. If you want to view a session in detail, tap on it.
