If you want to manage with your computer, for example, a speaker, then it is necessary to pair the two devices via Bluetooth. If your devices are paired but still not connected, then there can be various reasons behind it. Therefore, you need to take a step-by-step approach to fix it.
What to do if a Bluetooth device is paired but not connected
In order to connect a Bluetooth device to your computer, it is necessary to pair the two devices. For example, you can connect a speaker to your PC. If you have paired a device, but it is still listed as "not connected" in the sound settings, then there is an error.- First check whether the Bluetooth driver on both devices is up to date. Also, download the latest Windows updates via "Update & Security".
- Test via "Start" > "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Airplane Mode" whether it is activated. Turn it off if necessary.
- About "Start" > "Settings" click on the "Devices" area. Select "Bluetooth & other devices" here. Find the appropriate device and select "Remove device". Confirm it with "Yes". Now try again to pair the two speakers and PC.
- Under "Settings" > "System" > "Sound" check whether the correct "output device" was selected.
- Eventually, the device must first be connected. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Bluetooth & other devices". Under "Bluetooth" you can now select "Connect" for this device.
