iPhone 12: Navigation - how to use the function
The iPhone 12 offers the possibility to use it also for navigation. By determining the location via the GPS signal, you can search for specific addresses, as well as surrounding facilities and services, and be navigated there.
Enable GPS signal for navigation on iPhone 12
GPS stands for "Global Positioning System" and refers to a service that allows apps to access your current location. The GPS signal must always be enabled for iPhone 12 navigation:- Open the settings.
- Tap on "Privacy" and activate the "Location Services" column.
- Then check whether the location services are also enabled for your navigation app.
iPhone 12 Navigation: Online or offline
- A map app is pre-installed on every iPhone 12 by default, which you can use to navigate from A to B - as long as you have an active Internet connection.
- Another popular online navigation app is also Google Maps. With it, you can search online for specific places, facilities or services. You will then be shown various map entries, opening hours, driving routes as well as the current traffic situation.
- To use your iPhone for navigation even without the Internet, there are various offline navigation providers. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist die App CoPilot GPS-Offline. Diese ist als kostenlose Testversion verfügbar. Der Nachteil an Offline-Karten: Ihnen fehlt die Angabe zur jeweiligen Fahrzeit.
