Deleting Facebook completely - this is how it works

How to secure your Facebook data

If you no longer want to use Facebook because you are worried about the security of your data, you have the option to delete your Facebook account completely. Before you delete your profile permanently, however, you should download the data from your Facebook account.

1. To do this, log into your Facebook account and click on the "arrow icon" located next to your profile in the top right corner.
2. There, select the "Settings" option and go to "Your Facebook information" > "Download your information" in them.
3. After clicking "View", you can select which data you want to download and, after selecting "Create file", you will be sent an email containing a link to the file download.

How to delete your Facebook account completely

Once you have backed up your data, you can proceed to delete your Facebook account completely. Please note that this will not only delete your Facebook profile with all its data, but you will also no longer be able to use your Facebook account to log in to other apps and services. To delete your account anyway, please go to the website "facebook.com/help/delete_account" and click on "Delete account". To confirm the deletion, enter your password, answer the captcha and finally click "OK".
