If you own a FritzBox, there is no need to buy an extra NAS (Network Attached Storage) to store your files centrally. The FritzBox offers you the function FritzNAS, with which you can convert a storage into a NAS. Since the internal memory of the box is small, you need additional capacity.

How to set up FritzNAS on your FritzBox

With FritzNAS, it is possible to create a storage that allows you to access it with different devices within your local network. Since the internal memory of the FrtizBox is very small, it is a good idea to use an additional memory. Here you should use a USB stick.

1. Connect your USB stick to a suitable port on your FritzBox.
2. The speed of your NAS depends on the USB stick used.
3. Enter "http://fritz.box" in your browser on your computer and log in with your account information.
4. In der Oberfläche der Box klicken Sie auf den Menüpunkt „Heimnetz“ und anschließend auf die Option „Speicher (NAS)“.
5. Aktivieren Sie nun den Punkt „Speicher (NAS) aktiv“.
6. Auf der linken Seite klicken Sie erneut auf „Heimnetz“ und wählen dann „USB-Geräte“ aus.
7. Nun ist der NAS eingerichtet und Sie können von allen Geräten im Netzwerk darauf zugreifen. In manchen Fällen ist eine Optimierung der Geschwindigkeit notwendig.
