InDesign: change page format - it's that easy

One of the things you need to do when creating documents in InDesign is to develop a good format in which to render the document. You can still adjust the format of an entire page or document after the fact.

InDesign: change page format - this is how it works

Before you change the format, you need to be clear whether you want to format the entire document or just individual pages.

1. To change the entire document to a different format, start InDesign and load the project.
2. On the menu bar at the top of the window, now click on "File" and further on "Document Setup...".
3. In the "Page Format" box, you can now specify whether the document should be formatted in portrait or landscape format.
4. If you only want to adjust a single page of the document, select "Window" from the menu bar and then "Pages".
5. Im neuen Fenster sehen Sie eine Liste aller angelegten Seiten im Dokument.
6. Klicken Sie eine Seite an und wählen Sie anschließend „Alternatives Layout erstellen…“.
7. Sie können nun zwischen dem Hoch- und dem Querformat für die ausgewählte Seite wählen. Auch die Seitengröße kann variiert werden.
8. Beachten Sie jedoch, dass durch die Ausrichtung die aktuelle Formatierung möglicherweise nicht wunschgemäß übernommen wird und daher erneut angepasst werden muss.
9. Sie können die Seiten jederzeit wieder auf ein anderes Format zurückführen.
