Set up InDesign page in landscape format

In the Adobe program InDesign, you can set up documents in landscape format directly during creation. Then every page will be set landscape. However, you also have the option to rotate individual pages of a document. To do this, you need to show the page settings window.

Landscape format in InDesign

When you use InDesign, you can set up entire documents or individual pages in landscape format. If you want your entire document to be in landscape format, it's best to choose the correct setting when you create the file. You can also rotate individual pages later.

1. Open InDesign.
2. Click "File" in the top left menu.
3. Select "New".
4. Click "Document".
5. A dialog box opens to set up your document.
6. Under "Orientation" you will see two icons.
7. Click the left icon to set up your document in landscape orientation.

Rotate a single page landscape

1. Click "Window" in the top menu.
2. Select "Pages".
3. You will see a listing of all the pages in your document.
4. Select the page you want to display crosswise and click on it.
5. Click "Create alternate layout".
6. Wählen Sie „Seitenformat“, um das notwendige Dialogfenster zu öffnen.
7. Klicken Sie unter „Ausrichtung“ auf das Symbol für Querformat.
