Excel: Landscape format - how to change the orientation of the pages

After you have created a table or a chart in Excel, you can print it. Usually this is done in portrait format. The preview is also displayed in portrait format. However, if you want to display and print the table in landscape format, then this is also possible.

How to print in landscape format in Excel

By default, everything in Excel is displayed in portrait format. Regardless of whether you want to print a table or the entire worksheet, this is done in portrait orientation. However, you have the option to change the orientation of the worksheet to landscape format.
  1. Mark all worksheets that you want to display in landscape format.
  2. Then select the "Page Layout" option in the tabs in the top bar.
  3. Here you will now find the "Page Setup" group. In this, select the "Alignment" button.
  4. Now you will see two options. Select "Landscape" here by clicking on the corresponding area.
  5. If you do not have a printer connected to your computer, the option "Alignment" is hidden and can not be selected.
  6. You can also select the orientation directly when printing. Klicken Sie dafür auf „Datei“ > „Drucken“.
  7. Nun sehen Sie im Bereich „Einstellungen“ ein Dropdownfeld.
  8. Wählen Sie in diesem die Option „Seitenausrichtung“ aus.
  9. Hier können Sie nun wieder zwischen dem Quer- und Hochformat wählen. Klicken Sie in diesem Fall auf „Querformat“.
