Cross format for one page only: How to insert a page break in Microsoft Word

To display only a single page in landscape format in a Word document, it is necessary to insert a page break to the corresponding page beforehand. To do this, place the cursor at the end of the page after which the page is to be inserted in landscape format. Then navigate in the menu to "Layout" > "Page breaks" and select the option "Next page" under "Section breaks". The page break will then be inserted and the cursor will move to the next page.

Microsoft Word: Procedure to create a page in landscape format

Once you have inserted a page break in your Word document, you can select a separate formatting for each section. To change from portrait to landscape format, first make sure the cursor is on the page you want to format.
  1. Then double-click the ruler on the left margin to open the formatting menu.
  2. There, click "Landscape" under Alignment and confirm your changes by clicking "OK" to apply it to the section.
  3. Alternatively, you can also change the alignment via the menu bar by going there to "Layout" > "Alignment" > "Landscape".
  4. In order for the next page to now appear in portrait format again, you need to insert a page break again and set up the alignment for this to portrait format.
