Microsoft Teams: Invite externals - how to do it
With Microsoft Teams you can communicate inside and outside the company. Various features are available for this purpose, and you can also invite external participants. However, they can only use the application to a limited extent and must be invited by you.
How to invite external participants to Microsoft Teams
With Microsoft Teams, you can also offer external participants guest access to your resources. For this, this participant does not need an account, but only an invitation. As an administrator, you have the option of specifying exactly which functions the external party can use and which cannot. The feature that you can invite externals is disabled by default, but you can enable it again with a few clicks.- To do this, first log in to the website "www.portal.azure.com".
- There you navigate to the "Azure Active Directory".
- In the overview, you can now select the "External Identities".
- Now select the settings for external collaboration by adjusting them accordingly in the "Organization Identities" area.
- If you now want to invite guests, then it is important that the items "Administrators", "Users" and "Members" are activated.
- Now you can invite external participants.
- To do this, click in Microsoft Teams on the three dots next to the team to which the guest should be invited.
