Making your MacBook faster - here's how to do it

Normally, a Mac doesn't have to hide from the newer models, as the device is very well positioned performance-wise. However, it may happen that the Mac slows down over time. In this case, the RAM or the hard drive space can be to blame.

How to make the MacBook faster again?

Apple is usually very stingy when it comes to equipping MacBooks with RAM. For this reason, the slow behavior of the laptop is often due to an overloaded RAM.
  1. To check how much RAM you have and how much of it is occupied, click on the desktop and then in the top left of the bar on the Apple icon.
  2. Now go to the menu item "About this Mac". Now a window will open that gives you all the information about your MacBook in a clear manner. Click here at the top on the tab "Hard drives".
  3. In the first hard drive that is displayed, at least 15 to 20 percent of the memory should be unoccupied.
  4. If this is not the case, only the deletion of data helps. Only in this way can you empty the hard drive again.
  5. If you still have the old Flash Player installed in your browser, this can also be a cause. Remove the software and reboot the MacBook.
  6. Make sure that the software is up to date. Dazu öffnen Sie den App Store und klicken links im Menü auf „Updates“.
