Can you connect Alexa to a soundbar?

Alexa is the voice assistant from Amazon. You usually get this with one of the Echo models. You can then use voice commands to make requests or control applications. If you also want to use the voice assistant with a soundbar, you only have to connect the two devices.

How to connect Alexa to a soundbar

In order to connect your soundbar to Alexa, you need an Alexa device. This includes Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and many others. To be able to set up the device first, you need the Alexa app. In addition to an Internet connection, an Amazon account is also necessary, as this is the only way you can put the voice assistant into operation.
  1. First, make sure that the firmware of both devices is up to date. Update them if necessary.
  2. Next, you need to start the Music Center app on your smartphone and use it to connect your smartphone to the soundbar. This is done via the selected WLAN. Both devices must be connected to the same network.
  3. Set up your soundbar via the app and then open the Alexa app to set up the Amazon Echo.
  4. In the Alexa app, you can now create a "Multi-Room Music Speaker Group". Hier müssen Sie danach nur noch Ihre Soundbar registrieren und schon ist der Sprachassistent mit der Soundbar verbunden.
  5. Nun können Sie ausgewählte Sprachbefehle nutzen, um die Soundbar zu steuern.
