Delete Amazon Prime video history - here's how to do it

When you watch movies and series on Amazon Prime, the titles you watch are saved in a playback history. You can edit the Amazon Prime video history within the account settings on the Amazon website.

If you don't want people to see the content you've watched in your account, it's best to delete it. Moreover, deleting it also serves to make your recommendations better.

How to easily delete Amazon Prime playback history

If you want to delete the history of your content watched on Amazon Prime Video, it works through your account settings. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Amazon website in your browser and log in.
2. Hold your cursor over "Account and Lists" at the top and select "My Prime Video."
3. On the Prime Video overview page, click the gear icon at the top right.
4. There, select the "Activity" category.
5. Now select "View History. Here you will find a list of all series and movies you have watched with the user account.
6. Click "Remove from watched videos" under the movie or series title to delete the content from the video history.
7. Alternatively, you can also click "I prefer not to use this for recommendations" on the right.

Improve and customize movie and series recommendations

Removing movies or series from the history will affect the suggestions and recommendations you receive, as the suggestions are generated based on the titles you watch. In the playback history, in addition to removing individual titles, you also have the option to give ratings. If you rate a title highly, more similar movies and series will be suggested to you.
