Disable Bitdefender - how to turn off the service

Bitdefender is a popular antivirus program sold in different versions: PC Security, Internet Security or as an all-round protection. If you want to disable your Bitdefender protection, it is easy to do so via the settings. You can also uninstall the software completely to remove the protection.

How to disable Bitdefender

1. Open Bitdefender by pressing the small up arrow in the bottom right corner of the status bar and then clicking the Bitdefender icon.
2. Once you are in the Bitdefender window, now open the "Settings" tab.
3. Now go further to "Protection" and into the "Antivirus" section. Select "Show features".
4. Now click on the settings icon (gear) at the bottom right.
5. In the settings, go to "Bitdefender shield" and click on the small switch at the top right.
6. A window opens where you can select how long you want to disable protection. Sie haben die Wahl zwischen 5, 15 und 30 Minuten, einer Stunde, für immer oder bis zum nächsten Neustart des Systems.
7. Sie können Bitdefender natürlich auch komplett deinstallieren. Dazu geben Sie unten links in die Suchleiste „Programme“ ein und klicken dann auf „Programme hinzufügen oder entfernen“.
8. Suchen Sie in der Programmliste nach Bitdefender und klicken Sie auf die Zeile und dann weiter auf „Deinstallieren“.
